League and getting game ready
Welcome to our league and game play page, here you will find a range of helpful information, but if there is anything missing that you need to know please contact us.
Please click here for some Roller Derby Basics information.
Insurance
If you have just become a white star, haven’t scrimmaged for a while or just can’t remember, please check that your insurance is up-to-date and covers you to play derby.
AT the start of every year please make sure your insurance is up-to-date, if you have just recently stepped up to league you will need to update your insurance. To check your current insurance, go to revolutionise (rev sort) and Login to check, or send an email to gippslandrangesrollerderby@gmail.com
Attendance Requirements:
TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT
Training happens twice a week for league, Sundays and Tuesdays, plus you can continue to attend Skate Fit classes (if you wish). If you're interested in developing your skills and going for the next skills test, e.g. Red star, you will be required to attend 9 or more sessions in the 6 weeks leading up to a given assessment date (9 out of 12 sessions). As you progress, you will be introduced to contact skills when you and your trainers feel the time is right! There are occasionally opportunities for you to participate in a low contact scrimmage (practice game). We will give you as much warning as we can when these come up on our calendar! We will also have updates on our league Discord group, Gippsland Ranges Roller Derby Members.
Derby Name register
There are two derby name registers, one is with our club so that name and numbers do not double up GRRD DERBY NAME LIST, and the other is an Australian wide name register. Please make sure your name and number are on both, starting with the GRRD list. Any questions or you are stuck for a name, please ask on our member’s Facebook page.
